Delicately holding the door in place while you shim around the frame and set the hinges correctly is always a challenge, especially with a 300 pound door! We used a rope hoist to keep it upright and nudged it along a stack of plywood and 2x4's until it was exactly in place, then drove thick screws into the jamb and the jack stud behind it.
