To suspend the panels from the ceiling, I researched my drywall anchoring options (I couldn't count on hitting a rafter through layers of ceiling sheathing) and came up with these little guys. The normal way to fix a fastener into drywall is to use something like the piece in the middle, which punches through then back-braces itself on the inside of the panel. The conical threaded fasteners actually bite into the gypsum and provide an incredibly firm, virtually invisible point to which you can screw in just about any fastener. Perfect! |
