Twocans Playing
We began bonking Steel Drums around the Puget Sound region in the late 1980's, playing outside the Kingdome, downtown by Nordstrom's, next to the Science Center, and under the Monorail.
You might have heard us performing our tropical rhythms down at Pike Place Market, up at Snoqualmie Pass, over in Pullman or Spokane, or out on the islands of Puget Sound.
We have played for Boeing, Microsoft, REI and Weyerhauser, and for countless smaller companies and private events, too. In fact, you can find the Toucans just about anywhere!
The Toucans really get around with our Steel Drums; we play them all over the Tropical Northwest, at all different kinds of events! We usually try to snap a photo or two along the way, so if you'd like an inside peek at a typical Toucans summer, check out our photo pages! (Photo Gallery)
Our seasoned group is as versatile as can be: we can liven up any party or picnic with some vibrant island rhythms, or we can gently bring the tropical breezes to your convention or reception. We have a nice selection of audio clips if you'd like to take a listen! (Hear The Band)
If you'd like to bring the music of the Toucans to your wedding, party, picnic or other special event, just send us an email or give us a phone call and we'll do our best to make it happen! You can find out more about hiring the band in our Booking Section. (Contact The Band)
The instruments of the Toucans are Trinidadian Steel Drums, a relatively new instrument which is nothing more than a series of notes shaped from the bottom of an old oil barrel! The Steel Drum has a beautiful sound, and an equally interesting history. Find out more about these amazing instruments in our Steel Drum section. (Pan History)
